CASS Party Leadership Group Studies Spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's Spe

Reported by China Social Sciences Network: On January 24, the Party Leadership Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) convened a meeting to convey and study the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech delivered at the Special Training Session for Principal Leading Cadres at the Provincial and Ministerial Levels on Studying and Implementing the Spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and mapped out plans for implementing the relevant work. Gao Xiang, President and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech, emphasizing the need to fully, profoundly and accurately understand and grasp the strategic arrangements made by the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee for economic and social development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, and to promote the in-depth development of learning, research, interpretation and publicity work. Present at the meeting were Peng Jinhui, Vice President and Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group; Hang Yuanxiang, Leader of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission stationed in CASS and Member of the Party Leadership Group; Zhao Zhimin, Secretary-General and Member of the Party Leadership Group; Zhao Rui and Li Xuesong, Vice Presidents and Members of the Party Leadership Group; and Jin Minqing, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Institute of Contemporary China Studies.

The meeting pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech, from a strategic height focusing on the overall cause of building a strong country and national rejuvenation, made an in-depth elaboration and put forward clear requirements on major issues such as fully, profoundly and accurately understanding and grasping the strategic arrangements of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. It has significant guiding significance for promoting the sustained and healthy economic and social development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, and fully demonstrates General Secretary Xi Jinping's outstanding political wisdom, superb leadership capabilities, extraordinary theoretical courage and strong sense of mission as the core of the Party and the leader of the people. It is an important document shining with the brilliant light of Marxist truth. We must deeply understand the decisive significance of the "Two Establishments", more resolutely uphold the "Two Safeguards", unify our thinking and actions with the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech, maintain strategic resolve, strengthen confidence in victory, actively take responsibility and act proactively, and unswervingly forge ahead in the direction guided by General Secretary Xi Jinping.

The meeting emphasized that we should establish and practice a correct view of performance, taking the actual effect of serving General Secretary Xi Jinping and the CPC Central Committee as the true performance, strengthen the research, interpretation and policy analysis of the major theoretical viewpoints of the Plenary Session, and vigorously promote the narrative of a promising Chinese economy. We should serve as a think tank for the decision-making of the CPC Central Committee and the state, focus on major theoretical and practical issues concerning the overall development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, strengthen comprehensive research efforts, and continuously submit high-quality research results. We should scientifically plan the overall development of CASS in a coordinated manner, promote various research institutes to strengthen the assessment of strategic situations in their respective disciplines and fields, and timely adjust the discipline layout at both the academy and institute levels in accordance with the principle of serving the overall interests, supporting strengths and prioritizing key areas. We should strengthen Party leadership, adhere to the coordinated promotion of development and security, and ensure the steady progress and effective implementation of various key tasks defined at CASS's 2026 Annual Work Conference.
