Xi Jinping Replies to Letter from Teachers and Students of a U.S. Youth Educatio

On January 7, Chinese President Xi Jinping replied to a letter from teachers and students of a U.S. youth education exchange delegation that visited China. The delegation is composed of members from Diamond Minds Transformational Leadership Academy in Miami, Florida, the University of Florida and Miami Dade College.

In his reply, Xi said he was pleased to learn that the teachers and students had a pleasant and rewarding journey in China, and felt their strong interest in and sincere affection for Chinese culture.

Xi noted that the hope of China-U.S. relations lies with the people and its future rests with the youth. Since the launch of the initiative to invite 50,000 young Americans to China for exchange and study programs over five years, more than 40,000 U.S. youth have actively participated. This initiative has opened a window for them to understand the real China and built a bridge to carry forward the friendship between the two peoples. This fully demonstrates that conducting friendly exchanges and cooperation is the shared aspiration of the peoples of China and the United States. Xi expressed the expectation that more U.S. youth will join the cause of China-U.S. friendship, serve as a new generation of envoys for the friendship between the two countries, and make greater contributions to enhancing China-U.S. people-to-people exchanges and advancing the development of bilateral relations.

Recently, the teachers and students of the U.S. youth education exchange delegation that visited China wrote a letter to President Xi. They recalled their China visit experience in October 2025 and thanked President Xi for the precious opportunity provided by the "50,000 in Five Years" initiative to strengthen mutual understanding between young people of the two countries.
